Maintenance

One of the most attractive qualities of of natural flooring is how easy it is to keep in top shape. By following the simple maintenance program below your flooring and rugs will last significantly longer.

The first step for maximising the life of your natural flooring is prevent as much outside dirt as possible from coming inside. Combined with regular vacuum cleaning your flooring will maintain its great look and feel.

Its important to remember:

•    Fine dirt damages the fibres in your natural floor covering so vacuuming twice weekly will extend its life.
•    A power head vacuum cleaner is best for removing fine dirt.

Dealing with Spills

Accidents can happen and when they do they need quick attention. If your flooring is not factory treated with fibreguard, it is strongly recommended that a stain protection is applied to assist in the clean-up of spillages.

When dealing with liquid Spills

1.    Never rub the affected area.
2.    Clean up spills with paper towel as quickly as possible, renewing the paper towel until all liquid is cleaned up.
3.    If it looks like the spill might stain, add a small amount of white vinegar(approximately 1 teaspoon of vinegar per litre of water) to some warm water and gently dab the affected area. (If vinegar is unavailable soda water can be used)
4.    Use as little water as possible whilst cleaning.

When dealing with solid spills

•    Scrape up and remove all the spilt material and then follow the same method as for liquid spills.
